He then decided to resign and start his own business with his old school buddy, Willy.<\/p>\n<p>Coming to the decision to quit his stable paying job while having a family of 4 to provide for was a risky choice. However, Daniel decided that their love for seafood was worth the risk. The duo both particular loved the seafood broth recipe that Willy&#8217;s Malaysian father in law cooks.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Why not bring it in Singapore to share it with everyone?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With Daniel&#8217;s background in Food &amp; Life Science and Willy&#8217;s family background in fresh seafood, they started Shun Feng Crayfish Delight.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18621 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/server1.webstudio.com.sg\/~staging\/ypsg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/18011130_703284033185474_929133659868218530_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/server1.webstudio.com.sg\/~staging\/ypsg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/18011130_703284033185474_929133659868218530_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/server1.webstudio.com.sg\/~staging\/ypsg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/18011130_703284033185474_929133659868218530_n-480x218.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 960px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Shun Feng (\u987a\u4e30) Heritage<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Shun Feng seafood broth secret recipe originates from Kuala Selangor in Malaysia (\u5927\u6e2f) where the humble Teo Chew fishermen makes a living from the sea.<\/p>\n<p>They would prepare the broth on board the fishing vessels to nourish themselves and to drive out the coldness while facing the sea\u2019s\u00a0unpredictable tempest.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" id=\"u_1r_0\" class=\"_h2z _297z _4lh5 img aligncenter\" style=\"font-size: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-sit4-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/27336674_838939459619930_5256118733262608961_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&amp;oh=8761a28169d57e90eed15fa132843942&amp;oe=5BD774B8\" alt=\"\" width=\"691\" height=\"456\" \/><br \/>\nBefore setting sail for extended time at the sea, they would pray to the deity for fine weather, smooth sea and bountiful harvest.<\/p>\n<p>Hence the name ShunFeng \u987a\u4e30 is derived with a similar hope that the journey in sharing this unique cuisine with their friends and supporters will be equally smooth (\u987a) and bountiful (\u4e30) for them.<\/p>\n<p>\u987a\u4e30 which has a similar sound to \u987a\u98ce (fair winds) also carries their wish that the voyage they are embarking on will be with fair winds on their side!<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Choppy Waters<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With all new businesses, the beginning is usually rough and demanding.
